The Fifty Fund
quiet support, lasting difference.

Who we are

We are a charitable trust that has been providing grants to residents of Nottinghamshire and local charities and organisations since 1939. The Fifty Fund is governed by a dedicated board of trustees and supported by a grant administrator, who carefully reviews applications from individuals seeking assistance.

What we do

We provide both financial support and practical assistance to individuals and local organisations. Our mission is to help Nottinghamshire residents facing poverty, hardship, or distress. Support can range from essentials like food vouchers, household items, and white goods to contributing to the funding of community initiatives such as food bank programmes.

How we can help

We support Nottinghamshire residents with a wide range of practical help, from food vouchers and household essentials to carpeting and white goods. We also fund local charities and organisations that deliver vital services, such as hospices and community initiatives like food bank programmes.

We’re a small charity with a big commitment – helping people get through, get by, and feel seen.

Always here to help

Sometimes a small bit of help can make a big difference.
If you know someone who’s struggling, let us know.

Real stories, real impact.

Every grant we give tells a story – of someone facing hardship, and of how a small act of support made a big difference.

We’re currently gathering stories from people we’ve helped across Nottinghamshire. These case studies will show the real-world impact of your referrals, and how The Fifty Fund offers comfort, dignity and practical support when it’s needed most.

Areas we cover

The Fifty Fund provides support to people across Nottinghamshire, including communities in Nottingham, Mansfield, Newark, Worksop, Retford, Hucknall and beyond.

Wherever there’s need – in city neighbourhoods or rural villages – we’re here to help.

The support we offer is quiet but meaningful,
and for many, it arrives just when it’s needed most.

Here are some examples of how we have helped people:

“An individual in Nottingham was facing poverty and made an application to the Fifty Fund for assistance in order to purchase essential food items. The Fifty Fund supported the individual with regular e-vouchers for their local shop.”

“A Nottinghamshire Charity required funding to purchase mobility and sensory equipment for autistic and disabled children living in Nottinghamshire. The Grant funds stretched greatly and were used to purchase 10 packs of equipment, including sensory packs for children with autism and tricycles for disabled children. In addition, the Charity delivered 325 items to families in the Nottinghamshire area.”

“A local hospice had patients who would arrive with only the clothes they were wearing, and often with no shoes or pyjamas. The funds provided by the Fifty Fund were used to supply items of clothing to the patients, launder their clothes, and ensure that when the patients left the facility they were given a dinner and a stock of larder items.”

“An individual facing homelessness was able to secure a flat through the council, but they no money to furnish their new home. The Fifty Fund were able to purchase carpets and white goods (a fridge and washing machine).”

“The Fifty Fund assisted a local Charity with a grant to assist with their aims of providing books and story telling to children in hospital. The Grant was used to purchase 840 new books, reaching 1,911 children.”
